The module is based on the new Intel® 5th Generation Core™ processors (formerly codenamed “Broadwell”). Built on Intel’s new 14nm process technology, the EmETXe-i87M2 is adopting 5th generation Intel® Core™ i7-5700EQ 2.6 GHz processor, and supports the Intel ® Turbo Boost Technology, enable to increase increasing the CPU processing speed from 2.6GHz to 3.4GHz clock speed to deliver breakthrough CPU performance, excellent graphic capability as well as the enhancement in security and management functions, which make the module ideal for intelligent application in several market segments, such as medical, digital surveillance, gaming, digital signage, communication and defense.

Thanks to Error Correction Code (ECC) memory socket support, the module is ideal for safety-critical applications. Depending on the design, the module comes with up to 16 GB of ECC DDR3L RAM to allow for the correction of single and double bit errors. More serious errors, that cannot be corrected automatically, will cause the module to stop working so as to avoid a system malfunction.

Enhanced security and manageability features help to drive down total cost and risk, protecting data and preventing malware threats.
